Evidence-based practice prioritizes strategies that are research-based and have demonstrated impact in repeated, rigorous testing. In child abuse and neglect—and in human services in general—there has been an increasing focus on evidence-based practice and programs. A number of resources exist in the field that provide guidance on evidence-based practice including databases of programs.
CANTASD is focusing on how these existing resources map to the needs of those at the front-end of child welfare—with a particular emphasis on the intersection between the protective factors frameworks being used widely in the field and evidence-based practice.
